Sigep 2016 review

The Sigep exhibition in Italy is the global gathering point for everyone and anyone with a passion for ice cream.

16 Halls and almost 200,000 visitors over 5 days, with everything from the latest flavourings (including pine resin flavour) to packaging solutions and gelateria shop fittings. In addition, and for the 8th year, a Whitby Morrison Ice Cream Van.

Hall C7 is the busiest of them all and is home to Italian ice cream super powers including MEC3, Comprital, Babbi and Carpigiani. It is the close relationship with Carpigiani that enables us to have a presence right in the heart of it.

The Whitby Morrison stand featured the latest Whitby Morrison Amalfi – a UK specification soft ice cream van with 4 lid freezer, double chiller and Carpigiani Rapida II. Completed in the Rocket Man wrap, the Amalfi stood out perfectly and drew people from around the world.

Open from 09:00 until 18:00, the Whitby Morrison stand received interest from a vast range of countries from all over the world. Notable interest came from countries including Kazakhstan, suggesting that this part of Europe is developing rapidly. We even had a number of enquiries for Northern Iraq.

We were once again supported too by many friends and colleagues from the UK. The growing reputation of this incredible exhibition seems to be spreading rapidly through the industry over here. Thanks to everyone who came to say hello, kept us entertained and brought us ice creams.

It may have only just finished but it’ll soon be time to plan again – if you’re yet to visit, you should really consider travelling to it.
